Meet Theta Tau

At Theta Tau, we are proud to be both Tar Heels and Carolina Zetas! Founded in 1979, our chapter has been home to some of the most genuine and talented women at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Membership in ZTA not only brings with it countless memories and experiences which will shape its members for years to come, but also a sisterhood that cannot be broken and an experience of a lifetime.

Our members are incredibly invested in their campus involvement, community outreach, service to Breast Cancer Awareness and Education, academics, sisterhood, and much more. Feel free to look around our site and see how truly amazing it is to be a Zeta. ZTA is a lifetime of commitment, support, and opportunity awaiting you. It marks the beginning of a relationship that lasts far beyond your college experience.

who are we?

We are passionate. We are courageous. We are loyal and bright. The women of Zeta Tau Alpha are many things, but above all, we are sisters. Founded in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the Theta Tau chapter has united women from all over the country under three single letters for years. Since 1979, Theta Tau has formed relationships, trained leaders, and introduced women to their forever friends. It is more than a sorority. It is a family, and it is our home.

Do you want to be a member of Theta Tau?

At ZTA, we welcome women into our chapter each fall through formal recruitment. This past fall, 67 girls ran home to us on bid day, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! We’re so excited to welcome more women into our sisterhood this year. If you're interested in our chapter there are many things you can do as a Potential New Member to learn more about us and to prepare for Panhellenic formal recruitment.

a message from our president

I am so honored to start my role as President of Zeta Tau Alpha’s Theta Tau Chapter at UNC-Chapel Hill!!

Coming to Carolina as an out-of-state student was scary, but the women of Theta Tau made me feel loved, seen, and supported from the very first moment I interacted with them during recruitment. Not only has ZTA given me the best and most genuine friends I have ever had, but this chapter has afforded me the chance to pour my heart into serving a group of incredibly inspiring women and make a meaningful impact, both in our chapter and the greater Panhellenic Community.

I am so excited to advocate for our members and exemplify our values of humility, service, learning, and love. Our chapter is not only caring and empowering, but it is fully and wholly dedicated to making a difference both locally and nationally with our philanthropy of Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. I am very much looking forward to seeing Theta Tau continue to uphold a high standard of excellence and seeing all of the wonderful things that we will accomplish together this year.

An enormous thank you to the women of this chapter for trusting me to be your President, and thank you to my predecessors, Kaylynn Eichhorn and Lex Casciano, for leading by example and being such amazing role models.

Executive Council 2024 — let’s do great things together!!

Zeta Love and Mine,

— Allie Frerichs, Chapter President
